Our story

Mow Town FC was started in the summer of 1987 by a group of groundsmen from the Mowborough parks department, who wanted somewhere for their Sunday kickabout to mean something. The first season was played on Clippings Lane Rec with borrowed goals and a kit in whatever green the market had.

The Sunday side won the league in 1994/95 — the club’s first trophy — and the first youth team followed in 2003. Today there are teams from Under-8s to the First Team, a Women’s side, and more volunteers than ever.

We are still at Clippings Lane, still green, and still a club run by the people who love it.
